In this case perhaps there is no American that wants this pitiful excuse for a job for such a low salary and horrible working conditions. Tata. (time: 25:10)

This bill, called the "Real Guest Act of 2005", or H.R. 3333, eliminates the H-1B visa and combines it into a generic H visa. In addition, Putnam gives a brief biography of Rob Sanchez told in a way that only George Putnam can. My Favorite Media Software

The Video Capture Bible by gOOz - Before embarking on your video project you will save a whole bunch of time by reading every word of the bible. If you don't read it, you will spend countless hours trying to figure things out, and then you will read it anyway. gOOz is probably more concerned with video that is downloaded by Kazaa and other P2P sharing programs but his bible is relevant to all video projects.

His rantings against RealMedia should be ignored because he is a video fundamentalist. Without question it's the gospel truth that other file formats like MPEG are far superior in quality to RealMedia, but Real is still the best out there for streaming web media. His criticisms about spyware are out of date because Real removed all of that after they got bad publicity.

VideoFaQs - The website of full of useful information. Lordsmurfs capture guides are a must read for everyone who wants to capture and process video. Lordsmurf dispels many of the myths that surround video processing.

VirtualDubMod - This is the free version of what's been called the Swiss army-knife of video tools. You almost don't need anything else if you want to bring video to the web. It's a dream come true for rippers and video hobbyists. I even use it to capture video because it does a better job than my overpriced Adobe Premiere or my ATI Radeon software. Lot's of independent developers have coded free plug-ins that increase the ability of VirualDubMod to filter and modify videos in ways that put commercial software to shame. There is a version called VirtualDubMod-MPEG2 but I found that a driver was available for the older version to be MPEG-2 compatible. For some reason the MPEG-2 version is better at interfacing with my ATI video card, while the older version is better at everything else.
Warning: VirtualDubMod is somewhat difficult to use because the information is scattered all over the internet. To make matters worse is can do so much it's difficult to figure out where to begin. Fortunately the time spent learning how to use it is well worth the effort! Some good sources of info include Doom9, VirtualDub.org, Afterdawn, and Video Help.

Donald Graft's Filters - a very good collection of VideoDubMod filter plugins. You can use these for free, or buy plugins from Adobe for hundreds of dollars.

Avisynth - a powerful video tool that can be integrated into VirtualDubMod. It's almost like putting VirtualDubMod on steroids. In order to use it you will have to write scripts, but don't fear, there is so much support online that you will have no problem getting started.

Audacity - An awesome freeware audio editing application that was developed by several people worldwide. It's the VirtualDubMod of audio and has very few equals. You will have to download a free plugin to handle MP3s.

Adobe Premiere Pro - It's the industry standard of video editing software. Sometimes nothing else will do the trick, but it's bulky, slow, and waaaaaaay too expensive. You still will need VirtualDubMod even if you buy this expensive clunker. I'm not going to link to them because Adobe is rich enough without my help, and they employ far too many H-1Bs.

Real Producer - Say what you want, gripe all you want, but the plain fact is that Real produces much better streaming media than WindowsMedia or any of the other formats you can find. To convert your file to RealVideo or RealAudio, download the free version of Producer.

SmartRipper - a free DVD ripper tool to extract video files off a DVD. You will end up with VOB files on your hard drive that you can convert to AVIs by using VirtualDubMod. This is an awesome freebie that big movie companies tried to get off the internet but you can still download it.

Sub Station Alpha - Don't mess with Adobe Premiere to put subtitles in video. You will get a real headache, especially since you will pay about $900 for Adobe Aftereffects so that you can do what Sub Station Alpha does for free. Sub Station Alpha will work with VirtualDubMod if you download the free plugin Subtitler.vdf. I'm not going to link to the plugin because I figure if you don't know how to Google yet you better learn!

Huffyuv Codec - One of the most frustrating things about video is trying to decide which Codec to use. Whatever you do, don't use Cinepak because it's a lossy piece of crap, and the Intel Indeo codec is as slow as a rhino wallowing in mud. Huffyuv is a loseless codec that makes reasonable file sizes, it's fast, and a free plugin is available for VirtualDubMod. Codecs might seem like a boring topic but I assure you that if you didn't read this you will regret it!

GSpot - a free utility that diagnoses AVI files. You view various types of information like for instance what codec is used, frame rate, bitrate, and you can see whether if the file has problems.

Streambox VCR - Freeware that allows you to record video and audio streams. It's difficult to use, but well worth the effort. The freeware version can be found on the internet even though the pukes are Real tried to ban them from the U.S. The toughest thing about using Streambox is finding the URL of the source. I still haven't figured out how to do it for many websites.

Replay Music - far easier to use than Streambox but it will cost you. Instead of recording the stream it takes the sound off you sound board. They have a fully functional demo download. Sometimes I use their  video and/or music recorder to find the URL for Streambox VCR.
